Maryland State Senate President Bill Ferguson (D-Bmore City) has come out against even TRYING to fight for Marylanders & all Americans by redistricting Maryland's Congressional map in the face of unprecedented efforts by the U.S. President to directly interfere and push to rigg election maps in states all over the U.S. in an effort to give Congressional Republicans a huge advantage in the 2026 Midterms allowing them to further erode our freedoms and the institutions that have supported democracy for nearly 250 years.
Senate President Ferguson, we your constituents DEMAND that demonstrate that you understand the ENORMITY of the dangers to us and our freedoms by at least FIGHTING for your voters by redistricting Maryland to defend democracy. At MINIMUM we expect a publicly announced open TOWN HALL to discuss this with your constituents by LATE NOVEMBER 2025, WHILE THERE IS STILL TIME TO CHANGE COURSE!
If you refuse to do so and ignore the clamoring of your voters to reverse your ill considered decision - one that is at odds with popular Governor Wes Moore - then we demand you hold a PUBLIC TOWN HALL IN YOUR BALTIMORE DISTRICT by WED, NOV. 19, 2025 to explain yourself and listen to the will of your constituents.
If other MD State Senate Democrats do not see how urgent the need for redistricting is while we are in the middle of an authoritarian power grab, and are more concerned about their own seats than democracy and their constituents, feel free to let us know that - and, by all means, invite them to the town hall too.
Redistricting might be difficult, it might be fought it in the courts, some elected officials might be asked to make political sacrifices for their people. And we expect you to do it not in spite of all this but BECAUSE you have been elected to fight for us - full stop.
If you ignore these petitions and continue to stand in the way of the fight for democracy, the voters in your Baltimore district can help you find your way out of the way in 2026.
